Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of granulating a raw material of iron ore containing fine powder, which can produce a pellet with high strength by overcoming an influence of the absorption of moisture on the raw material of iron ore and more minutely controlling the moisture, when granulating an inferior raw material of iron ore containing much fine powder, on the assumption that the raw material of iron ore contains particles with an average particle diameter of more than 500 μm in an amount of about 60 mass% at the maximum. SOLUTION: This granulating method includes producing pellets with an average particle diameter of 3 mm or larger by the steps of: controlling a water content in a raw material of iron ore containing a fine powder which contains powders with sizes under 500 μm in an amount of 40 mass% or more and under 22 μm in an amount of 5 mass% or more, into a predetermined range; and granulating the raw material of iron ore while adding moisture for granulation together with a binder to the raw material of iron ore.
