Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid support suitable to duplicating DNA by a nucleic-acid amplification reaction (polymerase chain reaction), high in the amount of nucleic-acid molecules that are immobilized, and high in bond strength of nucleic-acid molecules. SOLUTION: A solid support includes: a substrate, an electrostatic layer provided on the substrate so as to electrostatically attract nucleic acid molecules; and functional groups capable of covalently binding to nucleic acid molecules. The substrate has a surface provided with at least one surface treatment layer selected from the group consisting of diamond, soft diamond, carbonaceous matter, and carbide, with the electrostatic layer formed thereon.
