Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control apparatus capable of inexpensively and surely detecting abnormality of urea water. SOLUTION: An NOx selective reduction catalyst 15 is arranged in an engine exhaust passage, and NOx is selectively reduced by supplying the urea water stored in a urea water tank 20 to the NOx selective reduction catalyst 15. Whether or not the urea water is replenished in the urea water tank 20 is determined by detecting that a urea water replenishing port 40 of the urea water tank 20 is opened and closed, and when operating an engine just after replenishing the urea water in the urea water tank 20, when determining that the NOx purification ratio is reduced up to an allowable level or less, it is determined that the replenished urea water is abnormal.
