Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loads on the switching processing of a call control protocol in a facsimile apparatus capable of performing IP communication using any of the plurality of call control protocols. SOLUTION: The facsimile apparatus is provided with a protocol switching part 11d for switching the call control protocols between the plurality of call control protocols (instantiated by an SIP and H.323) and a transmission log storage means for storing for each transmission destination, a transmission log 14a including used protocol information indicating a call control protocol used for facsimile transmission out of the SIP and the H.323 and communication result information indicating whether facsimile communication has been practically available or not. The transmission log storage means is illustrated by a transmission log access part 11b and a storage part 14. The protocol switching part 11d selects the call control protocol to be used for facsimile transmission according to the transmission destination on the basis of the transmission log 14a stored in the storage part 14.
