PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation responsiveness generated accompanying the switching of content playback means, and the trading-off of power consumption reduction. SOLUTION: The information playback device includes a plurality of content playback means 1a to 1c, an output control means 4 for selecting the outputs of the content playback means, a state change detecting means 5 for detecting whether an output state ends after the passage of predetermined wait time from current time for the content playback means of the selected state, a use frequency calculating means 6 for calculating the use frequency of the content playback means, and a power source control means 7 for turning on a content playback means whose use frequency is higher than a predetermined threshold among the content playback means of the unoperated states when the content output state is determined to end after the passage of the predetermined wait time for the content playback means of the selected state, and turning off the turned-on content playback means of the unoperated state when the output resumption of the content playback means of the selected state is detected.
