Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new diamine compound for producing an imidated polymer having a higher refractive index and excellent transparency and heat resistance, a polyamic acid produced by using the same and an imidated polymer. SOLUTION: A diamine compound is represented by general formula (1) [wherein R1s are each independently a 1-3C alkyl group; (a)s are each independently an integer of 0-4; and (b)s are each independently an integer of 0-3]. The polyamic acid is obtained by polycondensing the diamine compound with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. The imidated polymer is obtained by heating the polyamic acid.
