Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive antenna system for television broadcast reception whose component cost is reducible by decreasing the number of variable capacitance elements. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the antenna system for television broadcast reception, wherein a feed signal is supplied to an antenna element 30 comprising a base member 2 and a radiating conductor 3 via a matching circuit. The matching circuit includes a variable capacitance element (varactor diode) 4, an inductance element 5 connected in parallel to the variable capacitance element 4, and an inductance element 6 connected in series with the variable capacitance element 4. A capacitance value of the variable capacitance element 4 is changed to change a resonant frequency of the antenna element 30. A resonance point of a parallel circuit composed of the variable capacitance element 4 and the inductance element 5 is set to a frequency lower than the resonant frequency of the antenna element 30, and then as the resonant frequency increases, the resonance point is shifted to a high-frequency side.
