PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech synthesizer equipped with a graphic user interface (GUI) for adjusting accent with high usability. SOLUTION: The speech synthesizer is equipped with: a morphemic analysis section 24 for generating a morphemic analysis data from an input text data; a speech synthesis section 25 for generating a synthesized waveform data from the morphemic analysis data; a speech output section 26 for outputting the synthesized waveform data by speech; a setting receiving section 22 which displays any one character string of an accent phrase in the morphemic analysis data, a slide bar and a slider movable on the slide bar, and which receives indication of an accent position in the character sting by moving the slider; and an accent adjusting section 23 which changes the accent position included in the morphemic analysis data based on the received accent position, and which causes the speech synthesis section 25 to generate the synthesis data, and causes the speech output section 26 to output it by speech.
