Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting which can detect temperature variation in a mold body during casting at improved detection accuracy and can meet the need for increasing a casting speed. SOLUTION: The mold for continuous casting has the mold body 10 with a vertically penetrated space part formed therein and allows a cast slab to be manufactured by solidifying molten metal while cooling the molten metal supplied into the space part with the mold body 10, wherein inserting holes 11 are formed over the vertical direction or the right-to-left direction on a cooling plate 14 which constitutes the mold body 10 and an optical fiber sensor 12 provided with one or more heat sensing parts 25 which are protected with a protecting tube 24 and can detect the wavelength variation of light caused by temperature variation is inserted into the inserting holes 11 and arranged.
