Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display, wherein the image quality is improved by preventing the display defect such as transverse crosstalk due to polarity inversion driving. SOLUTION: Video signals of different positive and negative polarities are applied to mutually adjacent pixel electrodes in a row direction of signal lines X, and on the other hand, the video signals of the same polarity are applied to the pixel electrodes connected to the signal lines X6 etc., at the ends of groups GP1 and the pixel electrodes adjacent to the pixel electrodes connected to the signal lines X7 etc., belonging to the groups GP2 etc. Thereby, when the checker patterns and the like used in an ordinary screen are displayed, the numbers of the positive polarities and negative polarities of the pixels displaying a medium contrast can be made nearly uniform without deviation and therefore, the occurrence of the transverse crosstalk due to the polarity inversion is prevented.
