Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a refrigerant noise generated in switching of a four-way valve in order to perform defrosting even when conditions such as length of a connecting pipe or a height difference between an indoor unit and an outdoor unit are varied. SOLUTION: The four-way valve 2 is switched when a difference of detected values of a discharge pressure and a suction pressure is equal to or lower than a prescribed value after stopping a compressor 1 or operating the compressor 1 at low rotation before start or after completion of defrosting, and thereby, switching is always performed by the same pressure difference even when the conditions such as the length of the connecting pipe or the height difference between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit are varied and time when the pressure difference is reduced is varied, and the refrigerant noise generated in switching of the four-way valve in order to perform defrosting can be reduced.
