Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polycyclic pyrimidines useful as a potassium ion channel controller. SOLUTION: The ion channel is a cellular protein that controls inflow into and outflow from a cell of ions containing calcium, potassium, sodium and chlorine. All of these channels exist in a human cell and exert influences on physiological processes such as nerve conduction, muscle contraction, cell secretion, control of heartbeat and artery extension. The potassium channel exists most widely and is diverse to be found in nerves, muscles, glands, immune systems and the like. A complex of a compound containing pyrimidine is provided as the channel controller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
