Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which improves a capability of eliminating a gas component generated on the fuel electrode side of an MEA due to power generation reaction in order to improve the power generation efficiency and time-dependent stability of a fuel battery. SOLUTION: The fuel battery 1 includes an electricity generating unit 2 having a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) 12, a fuel storage unit 4 storing a fuel therein, and a fuel supply mechanism 3 which supplies the fuel stored in the fuel storage unit 4 to a fuel electrode 7 of the membrane electrode assembly 12. The membrane electrode assembly 12 has a venting hole 17 which is formed to at least penetrate an electrolytic membrane 11 and allows a gas component generated on the side of the fuel electrode 7 to escape toward an air electrode 10.
