Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter manufacturing method for improving flatness in a pixel of a colored pattern when manufacturing the color filter by using an ink jet method. SOLUTION: The color filter manufacturing method comprises a process for forming a light shielding layer of a prescribed pattern on a transparent substrate, a heating process for heating at 50 to 150 °C for 1 to 5 minutes to form a color layer having a first film thickness by discharging coloring materials of respective colors to an aperture part of the light shielding layer by the ink jet method so as to form a defined array and then evaporating a solvent and a heating process for heating at 180 to 250 °C for 10 to 60 minutes to form a colored layer having the second film thickness by thermally curing the colored layer formed in the heating process; wherein, the ratio (T2/T1) of the second film thickness (T2) to the first film thickness (T1) is 0.4 to 0.7.
