Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for an optical use, exhibiting high light transmittance, and having excellent resistance (laser resistance) to a laser beam, especially the resin composition for the optical use, having the properties the deterioration of which is reduced even under an irradiation and penetration condition of blue and purple laser having 390-430 nm wave length, and exhibiting the transparency stable over a long period. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the optical use contains an alicyclic structure-containing polymer and a fluorescent whitening agent, and has 2-250 relative fluorescence intensity. The optical component is obtained by molding the resin composition. The method for improving the laser resistance of the alicyclic structure-containing polymer is also provided.
