Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inkjet recording paper which has a high coating strength and excels in gloss and image quality. SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording paper having a base and two or more coat layers on the base, the lower layer contacting with the base contains a pigment of an average particle diameter of 0.1-1 μm. The upper layer contacting with the lower layer is coated with a coating solution containing a fine secondary pigment of an average particle diameter of 0.01-1 μm, a boron compound and polyvinyl alcohol, and is brought into pressure contact with a heated specular drum, while it is in a wet state, so that it is finished to be specular.
