Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance welding electrode that prevents discharge, that has better roundness as well as long life effectively, and that can improve product quality. SOLUTION: With a recess provided in the upper inside, a collar for resistance welding which entirely fits in the recess and which has an annular shape and a slit is put in the recess and integrated. A first workpiece is clamped with the collar, with the tip split piece of a resistance welding collet electrode pushed inside, so as to bring the collar into uniform contact with the workpiece. The counter workpiece clamped by a second resistance welding electrode is brought into contact with the first workpiece, with an electric current made to flow through the resistance welding electrode, the collar, the workpieces and the resistance welding electrode.
