Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst body and a catalyst structure which can each keep the rate of removing carbon monooxide high even if they are used in an ordinary indoor environment and service life long enough to remove hazardous matters such as carbon monooxide. SOLUTION: The catalyst body includes catalyst fine particles kept on and/or in a hygroscopic coated layer formed of a hygroscopic substance where oxide-based ceramic powder is diffused, and the catalyst structure includes a substrate, a hygroscopic coating layer containing a hygroscopic porous silica where the oxide-based ceramic powder formed on the wall surface of the substrate is diffused, and the catalyst fine particles, wherein the catalyst fine particles are kept on and/or in the hygroscopic coating layer.
