Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader device which is superior in RFID tag-reading reliability. SOLUTION: An RFID tag reader is provided with an antenna 200 for communication with RFID tags; a high-frequency circuit which processes signals for communication with the RFID tags; a signal line 150 which connects the antenna 200 to the high-frequency circuit; and a matching circuit 204 which matches the impedance of the antenna 200 with the signal line 150. In this case, the RFIF tag reader is provided with; a detection means which detects RFID tags 12 for proofreading which are provided in a prescribed reading range; and an adjustment means which adjusts the high-frequency circuit or the matching circuit so that the RFID tags 12 for proofreading are detected by the detection means.
