Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which allows the distortion of a magnet roller to be reduced without enhancing the rigidity thereof, and also does not increase the rotating torques of a developing sleeve, thereby having high durability and providing an image of high image quality. SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developer carrier comprising: a magnetic field generating means; and a non-magnetic hollow body with the magnetic field generating means therein, configured to attract the developer to the outer surface thereof with the magnetic force of the magnetic field generating means, wherein distortion preventing magnetic field generating means to impart the magnetic force to the magnetic field generating means are disposed around the hollow body. The distortion preventing magnetic field generating means are configured to impart the magnetic force to cancel the distortion caused by the magnetic force applied to the magnetic field generating means from the magnetic materials disposed around the magnetic field generating means.
