Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit for display which can achieve low-cost enlargement processing by applying a conventional circuit in the case of displaying display data of resolution that is lower than that of a display panel and further can reduce the power consumption of a display device. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display apparatus, a switch 119 for short-circuiting an even signal line e.g. from among even columns and odd columns on a liquid crystal panel 101 to an odd signal line adjacent to the left side of the even signal line and a switch 120 for short-circuiting an odd signal line adjacent to the right side of the even signal line are arranged in an output part of a signal line drive circuit 103. By controlling these switches 119, 120, enlarged display corresponding to bilinear processing can be achieved in the horizontal direction; and by simultaneously scanning two scanning lines, simple enlarged display can be attained in the vertical direction. Furthermore, enlarged display of a low cost and low power consumption can be achieved, by stopping the supply of a steady-state current to an operational amplifier for applying a data voltage to an even signal line.
