Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave measurement system of piping thickness reduction for measuring a reduced thickness in piping. SOLUTION: Microwave nondestructive testing is conducted by propagating a microwave in the piping, utilizing characteristics of a wavelength of the microwave depending on an inner diameter of the piping, and measuring a wavelength change of the microwave generated by thickness reduction in the piping. In order to measure the change of the wavelength of the microwave propagated in the piping with high sensitivity, the microwave in the piping is resonated, and the wavelength change of the microwave is measured. Control of generation of the microwave, measurement of the microwave, and sweeping of a frequency is conducted by a network analyzer 100. Introduction of the microwave from a microwave generation part 102 of the network analyzer 100 into the piping, extraction of the microwave from the piping, and introduction into a measurement part 104 are conducted by using a coaxial cable sensor 108. An object to be measured is a cylindrical pipe 110. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
