Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device capable of performing a fail-safe process with respect to a target to be controlled even if the operational state of a main microcomputer is abnormal over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A power supply IC 10 resets the main microcomputer 20 when a first reset condition is established. A sub microcomputer 30 resets the main microcomputer 20 when a second reset condition is established, and also performs the fail-safe process instead of the main microcomputer 20 when a fail-safe condition is established. After the main microcomputer 20 itself is reset and restored, the main microcomputer 20 resets the sub microcomputer 30 and also performs initialization. When the sub microcomputer 30 is reset, a latch circuit 40 maintains the voltage level of an output signal to a relay 50 immediately before resetting and continuously outputs to the relay 50 the signal of the same voltage level as the voltage level before resetting.
