PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a power output device having a prime mover and a motor. SOLUTION: The power output device for outputting the power from a drive shaft comprises a prime move having an output shaft, a power adjusting device which is coupled with the output shaft and the drive shaft, and increases/decreases the power output from the prime mover by controlling the supply of the power and transmits the controlled power to the drive shaft, a motor having a rotor shaft, a changing mechanism having first to third rotary shafts to change the coupling destination of the third rotary shaft to the first rotary shaft and the second rotary shaft, a first power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the first rotary shaft and the output shaft, a second power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the second rotary shaft and the drive shaft, and a third power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the third rotary shaft and the rotor shaft. The first to third rotary shafts are arranged on the different axis from that of the output shaft and the drive shaft in a space between the motor and the power adjusting device.
