Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter which can plant onion seedlings in a ridge to a constant planting depth, even if the upper surface of the ridge is uneven. SOLUTION: A main elevating mechanism, which is provided in a transplantation portion, can integrally elevate or lower a plurality of planting members. One or more auxiliary elevating mechanisms are provided in the main elevating mechanism. Each of the planting members is provided in a vertically ascendable/descendable manner in the auxiliary elevating mechanism. The plurality of planting members are integrally elevated or lowered depending on the unevenness of the ridge on the basis of a certain planting member by the main elevating mechanism. Each of the planting members is vertically elevated or lowered depending on the unevenness of the ridge by the auxiliary elevating mechanism. Consequently, the planting members for other rows can be vertically elevated or lowered on the basis of a planting portion of a certain row, even in the case of the uneven ridge, and the planting depth of each row can be kept constant.
