Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor capable of efficiently ensuring illumination in an original surface by irradiating even the portions of shadows with light even though the shadows are produced because portions of wrinkles of an original, or the like are shut out from light emission when the wrinkles exist in the original in a rippling manner. SOLUTION: The image sensor is provided with a light source, a bar-like light guide having a first light emitting part for irradiating an irradiation part of an original with propagated light of the light source in an oblique direction and a second light emitting part for emitting the light in the direction of conveying the original, a lens body for converging light reflected from the irradiation part of the original, a sensor for receiving light that transmits the lens body, a reflector arranged at the opposite side from the light guide with respect to the lens body to reflect the light of the second light emitting part to irradiate the irradiation part of the original with light in an oblique direction to make the optical path of the light emitted from the second light emitting part so as to be between the lens body and the original, and first and second light scattering layers formed at parts that are respectively opposite in the first and the second light emitting parts in the light guide.
