Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting method of an optical pickup device, in which influence on a detection signal of an optical detector by displacement of a direction other than an optical axis direction of a collimator lens becomes within an allowable range and to provide an optical disk for adjusting an optical pickup which makes the method possible. SOLUTION: The optical disk 30 for adjusting the optical pickup has a protective substrate 31 and an intermediate depth information recording layer 32midfor adjusting the optical pickup formed in an intermediate depth Dmidbetween a depth Dmaxof the maximum depth information recording layer and a depth Dminof the minimum depth information recording layer, which are stipulated by an optical disk specification. In the adjusting method of the optical pickup device, the optical pickup device 10 irradiates the intermediate depth information recording layer 32midof the optical disk 30 for adjusting the optical pickup with laser light L1via the protective substrate 31 and detects reflection laser light L2, and an adjusting device 20 adjusts the position of the optical detector 16 of the optical pickup device 10 based on the detection result of the reflection laser light L2.
