PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headup display device for a vehicle, which can obtain very high-contrast display visibility and feeling of depth, and considering driver's convenience simultaneously. SOLUTION: In the headup display device for the vehicle, which is constituted to enable a driver 16 to view the virtual image 15 of a reflected display image obtained by reflecting a display image on a display 8 to a windshield, a reflection screen 2 which can be switched to a transparent state or an opaque state is provided on the windshield 10, and the display image on the display 8 is reflected to the reflection screen 2 in the opaque state, so as to enable the driver 16 to view the virtual image 15 of the reflected display image.
