PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently filter raw water with a plurality of stages of an activated carbon cartridge by prompting the sufficient removal of suspensoid and the adsorption of dissolved matter while preventing blocking of the flow of the raw water. SOLUTION: A filtration unit is provided with a casing 1 in which the raw water W introduced to the inside from an introducing port 2 of one end side, flows toward another end side and is discharged from a discharge port 3 and the activated carbon cartridges 4 arranged with a certain interval in the flow direction F of the raw water W and filtering the raw water W. An escape flow passage 5 through which the raw water W is passed without being passed through the activated carbon cartridges 4 is provided to have a surface area smaller than the activated carbon cartridges 4 in the cross-section crossing the flow direction F at a right angle between the activated carbon cartridges 4 and an inner wall 1a of the casing 1.
