Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a failure in video recording caused by the forgetting of putting a battery, battery exhaustion, or the forgetting of turning on a power source switch concerning an external microphone, in photographing by connecting the external microphone to the external microphone terminal of a sound recorder including both a body built-in microphone and the external microphone terminal. SOLUTION: When the external microphone is in a state of the forgetting of putting the battery, battery exhaustion, or the forgetting of turning on the power source switch, the DC potential VR of an Rch contact 3 and the DC potential VL of an Lch contact 2 indicating a status that the external microphone is not connected yet are returned from the external microphone to an external microphone connection status determining means 10 arranged in the sound recorder. Actually, the external microphone is connected to an external microphone jack 1 but the sound recorder is made to recognize that connection is not performed to the external microphone.
