Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment having a function of OSD displaying a use state of a memory such as a flash ROM and a DRAM. SOLUTION: When a memory is accessed for writing, used area address information is stored in the memory. When data are erased from the memory, unused area address information is stored in the memory. Then the used area address information, the unused area address information and current access position address information are retrieved, an unused area, a used area and a current access area are displayed in different colors on the basis of these retrieved information data, and image data for OSD displaying an image with an arrow indicating the current access area are created. Then a memory is displayed in different colors for the unused area, the used area and the current access area on the basis of the image data, an arrow indicates the current access area, and further the ratio of the used area is OSD displayed.
