Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method to locate by the use of a small number of information bits, a communication device which is recognized by a communication device existing nearby, in an ad-hoc network. SOLUTION: Each of a mobile device and a cradle incorporates a UWB radio apparatus. While the mobile device is housed in the cradle, antennas of the UWB radio apparatuses are fixed in such attitudes that their directivities of electromagnetic waves face each other and in such a manner that they are in an extremely close range independent of a surrounding environment. When the mobile device is housed into the cradle and then distance-measuring functions of the UWB radio apparatuses are used to determine that the apparatuses enter into a predetermined distance range, an operation of wireless data transmission is initiated, thereby achieving high-rate and high-quality transmission.
