Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting thin capacitor which includes a cathode portion formed on the center of an anode having a porous layer on the surface of a valve-action metal, and an anode portion formed on an end of the anode, and allows the anode to be stably connected to a metal plate without anode breakage when the metal plate is connected to the end of the anode. SOLUTION: A cathode portion making up a solid electrolytic layer and a conductive material layer is formed on a dielectric film in the center of the anode having the porous layer 12 making up the dielectric film on the surface the valve-action metal. The porous layer is so formed as to gradually become thinner from the cathode portion toward the end of the anode, where the anode portion is formed by connecting a nonporous layer 1 having no porous layer to the metal plate 6.
