Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device for receiving a blue laser beam with a wavelength of 390 nm to 500 nm which comprises an obliquely evaporated film and liquid crystal material which can function as a horizontally oriented film for a liquid crystal device, obtain a proper pre-tilt angle for liquid crystal molecules, and have an optically stable characteristic. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device comprises a plurality of transparent substrates which sandwich a liquid crystal layer, and a horizontally oriented film on which a single inorganic material layer is obliquely evaporated on the side of each transparent substrate contacting the liquid crystal layer. Then hindered amine based compound is added to the liquid crystal material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
