Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improver for nasty taste and nasty smell derived from animal/vegetable protein or a decomposed product thereof; to provide an acidic taste improver reducing stimulating acidity derived from acidifier-containing food and drink, lactobacillus fermented material or a vinegar beverage; and to provide a method for improving the nasty taste, the nasty smell, and the acidity. SOLUTION: The improver for nasty taste and nasty smell derived from animal or vegetable protein or a decomposed product thereof contains phenylethyl methyl ether as an active ingredient.
