Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for a retaining wall, which can overcome the weakness of a conventional self-supporting retaining wall while exploiting its features, and which enables the construction of the new retaining wall and the repair of the existing self-supporting retaining wall to be inexpensively performed in a short period of time. SOLUTION: Soldier beams 2 are driven into pile holes which are excavated at predetermined intervals, respectively; a wall slab 6 is supported on steel supports 3 which are erected connecting the soldier beams 2, respectively; a steel bracket 7, which is protruded in the downward direction of the wall slab 6, is mounted on the almost intermediate portion of the support 3; a shelf slab 8 is arranged like a shelf on the top surface of the bracket 7 in a state in which a gap is made between the shelf slab 8 and the backside of the wall slab 6; and subsequently, the rear of the wall slab 6 is backfilled for the construction of the retaining wall 1.
