Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the printing of an input character string even if the actual number of rows of the input character string is different from a specified number of rows in the case that the basic number of rows relating to the input character string is specified. SOLUTION: This tape printing system has (1) a character size attribution selecting means which causes a user to specify the number of rows of a character string to be printed on a tape and then causes the user to select a combination of character sizes of the rows of the specified number of rows or causes the user to select a fixed size for uniforming the character sizes of the rows to be printed on the tape, and has (2) a row-number-unmatched-case replacing means which replaces the selected combination of the character sizes by a combination of character sizes for an unmatched case when the number of rows specified by the user is unmatched with the number of rows of the characters for actually performing printing in the case that the number of rows of the character string to be printed on the tape is specified by the user and then the combination of the character sizes of the rows of the specified number of rows is specified.
