Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suitably correcting a command location of a ball screw at each operating time by taking into consideration a temperature distribution of each location caused by heating in the process of operation. SOLUTION: There is provided a method of calculating the temperature distribution of the ball screw 1, which is implemented by measuring temperatures at or near both edges of the ball screw 1, and at or near a screwing location of the same to a female screw 2, at predetermined time intervals, and calculating the temperature distribution at an intermediate location of the measuring locations, by a general solution or an approximate solution to the same, based on a heat conduction equation, at every predetermined elapsed time, by a micro-computer. There is also provided a method of correcting a displacement of a command location of the ball screw, which is implemented by calculating an increment of a length from a fixed edge 11 of each predetermined location, due to heating, based on the temperature distribution, and subtracting a final increment of the length from the fixed edge 11 after taking into consideration of an increment of the length at each location when a tensile stress (tension) is applied as needed, and a displacement of the fixed edge 11.
