Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent locking of an optical pickup by reducing occurrence of noise in both ends of a moving range when the optical pickup is moved in an optical pickup feeding mechanism. SOLUTION: Neither screw groove 16 nor screw thread 29 is formed in the end 17 of a lead screw 11 for driving an optical pickup 12. A coil spring 28 is attached to a guide shaft support part 21. Thus, when the optical pickup 12 moves to the end 17, since no screw groove 16 is formed, the screw groove 16 and a rack member 13 are disengaged from each other, and tooth jumping is prevented. Because of energizing of the optical pickup 2 toward the other end by the coil spring 28, the contact state of the screw part 26 of the rack member 13 with the screw thread 29 of the lead screw 11 is maintained, thereby assuring movement toward the other end.
