Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the outer shape of a display device while the size of a display screen thereof is fixedly held. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display panel constituted of a TFT substrate 1 and a color filter substrate 2 which are formed by using a glass substrate is housed in a frame 6 made of metal. In order to avoid direct contact of the glass substrate with the frame 6 made of metal, spacers 161 are formed by extending a portion of an optical sheet of a backlight provided in the rear of the liquid crystal display panel between the liquid crystal display panel and the frame. Since the optical sheet has 0.06 mm thickness and is very thin, the outside dimension is hardly affected by the spacers 161. Thereby, the outer shape of the display device can be reduced while the crack of the glass substrate is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
