SOLUTION: This detergent composition for hard surfaces comprises 0.1-10 mass% glycerol (A), 4-30 mass% compound (B) expressed by formula (1): R1(O2H4)m(OC3H6)nOH, where R1is a 2-7C alkyl group, phenyl group or benzyl group; m and n each independently denotes a number of 0-4; m+n≥1, 0.1-10 mass% alkali agent (C), and 0.1-10 mass% surfactant (D), where the mass ratio of (A) to (B) is (A)/(B)= 0.01-2, and pH is 9.0-14.0 at 20°C.
