Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine, in a vehicle including the internal combustion engine and a Rankine cycle device, by maximizing the recovery efficiency of exhaust gas energy by the Rankine cycle device. SOLUTION: The Rankine cycle device 9 for recovering thermal energy of exhaust gas is provided on a hybrid vehicle including the internal combustion engine 1 and a generating electric motor 2 as traveling driving sources. The output of the Rankine cycle device 9 is input to a transmission 4 and used for assisting the driving force of the internal combustion engine 1, or converted to power and used for charging of a battery 8. The Rankine cycle device 9 is operated during acceleration and cruising of the vehicle where the exhaust gas has a high temperature and a large flow rate to thereby efficiently recover the thermal energy of the exhaust gas.
