Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field coupling device capable of properly giving a high frequency magnetic field for response and information reading to a small magnetic field coupling circuit element to be included/attached in/to a sheet-shaped or plate-shaped object with a high property value such as paper money and securities, ensuring sufficient magnetic field coupling and feeding sufficient power, and to provide a reader. SOLUTION: A read probe (magnetic field coupling device) 100 is a magnetic field coupling device provided with a loop antenna for generating a high frequency electromagnetic field for resonance and response with a tank circuit in a small magnetic field coupling circuit element. The loop antenna comprises a dielectric substrate 101, a first loop antenna 102A formed on the surface of the dielectric substrate 101, a second loop antenna 102B formed on the back of the dielectric substrate at the same position as the first loop antenna and having the same diameter as the first loop antenna, and connecting parts (through hole) 108 and 110 for connecting the first loop antenna and the second loop antenna in series.
