Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that when an alarm display such as warning of a console screen of information equipment such as a personal computer and a workstation is generated, the alarm display is left standing without being noticed by a user and printing is not started until the user notices the display screen, and that although the user is warned by the sound of a buzzer after an elapse of certain time, the alarming sound gets across even to a user who is around the recorder but does not use the recorder to thereby give displeasure to the user around the recorder. SOLUTION: An alarm on a PC and a display such as an LED are provided by attaching a sensor which can determine the presence or absence of printed matter to a paper output tray, and the alarm is exactly noticed to the printer user by sounding the alarming buzzer when the user takes out discharged paper and there is no printed matter in the output tray.
