Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of releasing the lock of an optical connector used for connecting optical fibers and to easily attach and detach a plug even when the optical connector is disposed in a tight space. SOLUTION: The auxiliary device for releasing 6 includes: a cover part 51 provided movably along the direction of attaching and detaching of the plug 12 to and from a receptacle 11; and a tilted face abutting part 52 which is provided on the cover part 51 and is abutted on the end part of a lever 41 from the bottom, wherein the engagement parts 42 and 28 are released by moving the cover part 51 to pulling out direction, pressing the tilted face abutting part 52 against the end part 41a of the lever and moving the lever.
