Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fat equivalent phantom and its manufacture process fitted for making a biological simulation model with a fat-muscle double-layer structure, and also the method of estimating fat using this biological simulation model with a fat-muscle double-layer structure. SOLUTION: Refined water and a vegetable oil are mixed together, and further a detergent and agar are added and mixed together. Upon the liquid reaching its boiling point by heating the liquid mixture, a thickener is added to the liquid and mixed with fire stopped, and the liquid is put into a mold and cooled down to form a gel fat equivalent phantom. The refined water and the vegetable oil are mixed at the rate of about 1:1 to make the liquid nearly equal to human body fat in electric characteristics, which are further adjusted by the detergent. The muscle equivalent phantom is piled on the fat equivalent phantom to make a double-structure human body model, and the apparent specific resistance of this double-structure human body model is measured to estimate the thickness of fat in the model.
