Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a switching element from a surge voltage by using an inexpensive and simple circuit constitution without causing deterioration in response characteristics, in a power conversion circuit which generates an alternate current from a direct current. SOLUTION: The power conversion circuit 10 converts DC power obtained from a battery 12 into an alternate current, and comprises a first switching element 22, a second switching element 24, and three pairs of series switch parts 20a, 20b and 20c which are connected in series toward a negative pole line 12n from a positive pole line 12p in this order. Each of the series switch parts 20a to 20c comprises: a first snubber circuit 30 which is connected to the first switching element 22 in parallel therewith, and composed of a first resistor 26 and a first capacitor 28; a second snubber circuit 36 which is connected to the second switching element 24 in parallel therewith, and composed of a second resistor 32 and a second capacitor 34; and a third capacitor 38 which is connected only to the second switching element 24 in parallel therewith.
