Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an air-tightness inside a cavity by the inner container and a double lid, as well as, to prevent radioactive materials inside the cavity from leaking. SOLUTION: In a container for radioactive material (cask 100), the outer container 9 is placed outside an inner container 8 molded integrally by deep drawing. The outer container 9 is made of carbon steel and has gamma-ray shielding function, but the sealing performance is not required of the outer container 9. Since the inner container 8 is shaped like a bottomed container by integral molding, it can prevent radioactive materials inside it from leaking. Especially, the container has a double lid, consisting of a primary lid and a secondary lid placed on the side of an opening of the container 8, and a sealing surface and a mating surface are formed respectively on a stepped face where the secondary lid located outside the container, in comparison with the primary lid is in contact with the edge of the container.
