PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thermoplastic resin foam molded body excellent in surface smoothness. SOLUTION: In the method, the thermoplastic resin foam molded body is manufactured by using a pair of hermetically closable molded dies and furthermore foaming the thermoplastic resin foam sheet in the molded die. The manufacturing method of the thermoplastic resin foam molded body includes at least following steps. (1) a step for heating and softening the thermoplastic resin foam sheet, (2) a step for contacting the one side surface of the thermoplastic resin foam sheet heated and softened in the step (1) with a porous member to dispose it between the pair of molded dies, (3) a step that contacts a porous member non-contact surface of the thermoplastic resin foam sheet with the molded surface by expanding the thermoplastic resin foam sheet by reducing the pressure in a space formed by closing the pair of molded dies, and (4) a step for ejecting the thermoplastic resin foam molded body by opening the molded die after the space is returned to normal pressure.
