Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for reducing cost required for track maintenance by repairing ballast turned into a mud pumping state while maintaining the present structure as much as possible. SOLUTION: This ballast repairing method for repairing ballast utilizing mud pumping formed by mixing fine-grained ballast and moisture, includes a process for providing a space adjoining the lower face of at least one sleeper, under the at least one sleeper on the ballast containing the mud pumping, and arranging a water-absorbing crystallizing material which absorbs moisture included in the mud pumping to produce crystal mineral, in the space.
